Austria’s ALPLA adds North Las Vegas bottle plant to US network
The Austrian packaging group plans to start production in spring 2027 at its second western US manufacturing site, bringing capacity closer to customers.

Austria’s ALPLA plans to open a plastic bottle manufacturing plant in North Las Vegas, Nevada, extending its US production network with a second manufacturing location in the western part of the country. Operations are scheduled to begin in spring 2027.
The 13,000-square-metre facility will be located within the Craig Road Logistics Center and create 36 local jobs, according to a company announcement published by WhatTheyThink on October 2. It will use extrusion blow moulding to manufacture bottles for global and domestic customers.
The investment is a regional expansion rather than a US market entry. ALPLA reports that it currently operates 19 US sites. Its stated priorities for North Las Vegas are to bring production closer to key customers, improve delivery efficiency and add capacity for further growth in the western United States.
A western production foothold
ALPLA says the location provides access to major transportation corridors and regional distribution networks. The plant will serve food and beverage, health and beauty, and home-care customers, while providing additional capacity for future partnerships. The announcement did not identify individual customers.
“This investment represents an important step in ALPLA’s long-term North American growth strategy,” said Tasos Pourloukakis, regional managing director of ALPLA North America. “Our North Las Vegas operation will strengthen our ability to serve customers while giving us the capacity and flexibility to adapt as their needs and the market evolve.”
The strategic emphasis is on the reach of ALPLA’s manufacturing network, not simply its total number of factories. With North Las Vegas becoming only its second western US manufacturing location, the project gives the group another production base from which to serve the region. Customer proximity, transport access and delivery performance are the service improvements ALPLA is highlighting.
An established Austrian supplier
Based in Hard, Austria, ALPLA is a family-owned manufacturer of plastic packaging systems. Its products include bottles, closures and injection-moulded components, and it also has recycling activities, according to its Plastech business profile.
European Supermarket Magazine reports that the group employs around 25,500 people across 206 locations in 45 countries. The Nevada project therefore sits within an established international production business, rather than representing an initial move overseas.
For its US operation, ALPLA is linking the new capacity to both existing customer relationships and potential new business. Pourloukakis said the company was strengthening its North American production network while deepening customer partnerships and creating employment opportunities in North Las Vegas.
The announcement does not disclose the investment value or the plant’s annual production capacity. Those omissions limit any assessment of its financial scale. The operational objective is clearer: a broader western US footprint, with additional manufacturing flexibility ahead of the planned spring 2027 start.
